My very first trip:Borneo,Sarawak jan 2008~ 7 Days.

PART 1(KUCHING n BAKO):

Sooo Wanted to go to Borneo for quite a long time since Form 6.After i finished my STPM, n after the Pangkor class trip, i got plenty of t
ime to killedXD.So one day around december 07 Yeow Hong said 'y not go to Sarawak n check it out!'

YEAH! We were damn lucky as that time was air asia promotion period for flights from KL to Borneo. So Me, Yeow Hong n Zhi Jian started to plan the trip in quite a short time(cause racingwith the increasing air fares happen just overnight, so bloody excited!)At the end, we booked our tickets from KL LCCT -Kuching, Kuching -Miri,Miri -KL.Originally it was only 3 flights, but it was so hard to resist Mulu Caves which can only be reached by MASWings flights or by 5 hours boat ride, but 5 hours of boat ride is too time consuming, so at the end we booked another 2 flights back n forth to Mulu Caves.HAH!n along the whole trip we took 5 flights which is nearly RM 500 in total!!!till sien d..

The day b4 i booked the tickets, was actually conflicting, well, it was difficult to find a gurl along with us, so i was the only gurl and there was only 3 of us.Frenz did tell me :y only 3 pax??Dont u think will be dangerous??I was quite surprised though, 3 pax is just enough. For me, it is perfectly ok for only 3 pax going to a trip to somewhere that we never been to.I guess as long as we take care of ourselves well, everything will be allrite.Dad asked me:'U dare or not??' when i asked his permission.Well, I said:ya, i dare. Then, i booked the tickets=).N my very first backpacking trip starts!=)Spent around 2 to 3 weeks searching info bout where to go, planning our schedule, the easier route, make sure everything is in our budget and lastly book our accomodations.

Jan 15th : Around 4am we were on the way to LCCT, our flight was the earliest.N phew, after 1 hr++ flight we touched down in Kuching International Airport!!Then, we board a taxi to the guesthouse we have booked earlier on in Carpenter street, put our stuff in room n then we went around to search for our brunch, n we had Kolo Mee in this old kopitiam. The uncle was frenly, n the Kolo Mee was nyammmy!!!damn delicious!=)

Then we met up with this van driver that we called up to bring us to the Annah Raiss Long House, which if not wrong took us 45 mins to reached. Annah Rais Long house...
The scenary was beautiful, weather is just nice n of course the long house was real LONGGG! Bamboo bridge at Annah Rais Long house....

After visiting Annah Rais, we rushed back to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to catch up with the Orang Utan feeding time.We run all the way into Semenggoh n was glad that the feeding session was not over yet! n ya!Took some pics of wild Orang Utan that came out from jungle to enjoy their food. Baby Orang utan at Semenggoh Wildlife Centre.
After all the visiting, we were back in Kuching Town n is already evening. The uncle driver drop us off in the city centre n we went to tourist info centre to search info for tomolo's bus schedule to Bako National Park.Quite surprising though, the officer there help us lots.N we walk walk walk, to the Kuching riverfront.Wat a nice view, took a 30 sen boat to the opposite river bank,n slacking. Then back to riverfront, visit some temple n have our dinner on the river bank. 30 sen boat to cross Kuching Waterfront...*this is not a ad ..oh=)
After all the sweaty walk, went back to a shower n out again searching for food, going around the Kuching waterfront. View across Kuching Waterfront
Well, the city turn to silent mode around 1100 pm, less cars, like dead city...N what to do?hehe poker cards, chou dai di....

Jan 16th: Early in the morning of 2nd day, we packed our stuff n walked to the bus station nearby a old market.Found that we did miss the bus, we played poker cards again in a kopitiam while waiting for another bus.The bus was old, but i really had lots of fun sitting on the sound-like-machine-gun-bus(the windows tapping towards the steel when the bus moved on).We boarded a boat at the jetty to Bako National Park, n man...it was damn bloody exciting, just like sitting on a roller coaster haha..cause the river was extremely rough on the lucky day, strong winds almost overturn the small sampan. My ass leave the papan everytime the boatman go across a rough wave.BUT it was seriously FUN!!!Much more exciting than the roller coaster leh, unforgettable!

Shirts are all wet,lolz...when we reached Bako National Park, Sarawak oldest yet smallest national park. That place was so damn serene, monkeys r all around.Bako has quite a number of jungle back-trekking pathways,so after had our lunch, we choose few paths to trek. We were lucky enough to meet with a bunch of Proboscis Monkey(long nose monkey) coming out from jungle to search for food...Keeping as quiet as we can, we watched the monkeys real closed up.Man, they are so muscular!!!wooo...Then, we start our trekking...Man....we trekked for almost 7 hours, starting from around 11 am to 6 pm....All the paths was back- trek, Yeow Hong become the pacer...bloody him trek so fast. After few hours of trekking along Telok Pandan Kecil n Besar, we reached at the cliff top with view on top of beaches, with natural salt rock formation. Man, i was so damn scared....c the next pic.
While Yeow Hong is doing dangerous, extreme stunts, trying to kill himself, me enjoying the serene scenery. hehe...
superb salt rock formation that takes millions of yrs....
REaly breath-taking view, n we venture through the huge rocks down to the beach, chasing crabs, enjoying the splashing rough waves.

<---The masterpiece done by the crabs that we chased....hehe..

Down: down to the beach!!!

The funny part is, we then decided to trek to the waterfall shown in the map that looks so rewarding as we have finished our 1.5 L water.Damn thirsty.N after around 1 hour trek, we ended up in this......
brown-dirty-look small water fall.haha we were all expecting tall huge waterfall, clean water..lolz..but we were really thirsty so all of us drank the yellowish water, if cirit birit then all cirit birit together ba,dun care!!!But seriously tat was the tastiest water that i had ever drink....under that hot sun....wah..syiok!!

After all the resting, we back trek to the headquarter.
<----The trek looks all the same.... Tat time, the sun is going down, we gotta trek out of the jungle real fast, but the trees looked all the same(i mean still long long way to go).All i want is a bottle of
100+.lolz...telling myself keep on walking, dun think bout other stuff, just trek,n yah!we r out of the jungle...first thing is to search for a bottle of 100+ in the cafe....lolz.At night, while relaxing on the beach, stars r all over the sky, really shinny, but is impossible to take a shot of the starsT.T....Borneo bearded pig is around the headquarter searching for food.Damn cute....n our day ended with playing poker cards as well=).
The view from the beach of Bako National Park...weeeee...
TO BE CONTINUE......=)
